Our favourite Christmas recipe is panforte. We a sweet tooth for Christmas sweets and we also love the more traditional Pandoro and Panettone. But the panforte is one of Loriana’s strong point, and every year she prepares several to give to friends and relatives. This year we decided to share his recipe with you and I’m sure you too will be able to prepare a delicious traditional panforte.
Ingredients:
Unpeeled almonds 260 g
Mixed candied fruit 300 g
Sugar 300 g
Honey 150 g
00 flour 150 g
Spices 1 sachet (or cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, cloves)
Icing sugar 10 g
Host 1 sheet
Procedimento:
Start by mixing the honey and sugar in a saucepan in a bain-marie until it melts. Add the flour to the dough, and then the almonds, which you must first toast in the oven for a few minutes.
The almonds should be hot when added to the dough. The dough will be pretty tough, but you should be able to mix it. Finally, add the spices and continue mixing. Prepare the springform mold (or aluminum / paper if you prefer) with a diameter of 20 cm and line it with the host, both the edge and the bottom. Turn the mixture inside the mold, making it spread well with the help of a ladle. Bake in a preheated static oven at 180 ° for about 30 minutes.
After this time, take the panforte out of the oven and let it cool for just a few minutes, otherwise you will not be able to turn it out. If you prefer, sprinkle some icing sugar on top.
